Went to The Orpheum theatre on Tuesday night to see The (amazing) National. I was a fan before I went, and really enjoyed the show, but it wasn’t until their third and final encore song that I was really hit by their talent. They teetered on the edge of the stage, and sang their song, “Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks” totally acoustic, encouraging the audience to sing along. It was the most intimate performance I’ve ever seen an artist do, and want to watch it again and again. This version is from a performance they did in Singapore, but it’s the best copy I could find of the song. If you ever have a chance to see The National live, GO.
